Mykonos Wine Route Experience
MYK-1101 (Tour Code)
If you desire to take a break in between the vivid party scene and extravagant jet setter lifestyle of the cosmopolitan island of Mykonos, we invite you to explore an alternative side of this worldwide known Cycladic island, highlighting its rich legacy of history and tradition.
Your journey begins with a visit to the Archaeological museum of Mykonos, one of the oldest in the Cyclades, containing the prehistoric findings and the collection of sculptures and tombs from Rhenia island as well as the excavations from the Hellenistic period of Mykonos, such as vessels, statues and ancient columns.
Next stop is in the village of Ano Mera, where you will meet a local who decided to leave the busy Athens city life and return to his fatherland, to build an organic farm in 1994. The farm offers a unique opportunity to take a walk around its premises and visit its old monastery vineyard of Maou, while you will have a chance to taste organic, bio-dynamic wines, along with many other traditional local products of Mykonos that are produced at its premises.
