This is an alternative boat tour, like you’ve never experienced before! Do not expect a luxury boat to travel in comfort and style if you decide to hop on. But if you are looking for a real Greek “kaiki” boat experience and wish to get the true local feel of Iraklia, this genuine adventure is perfect for you!
Your experienced captain is one of the few permanent residents of this small paradise and will take you to see all of its hidden treasures. To start with, he will open his house for you in order to show you the famous Greek hospitality. You will begin your day at a lovely traditional house yard, for a delicious breakfast snack made out of homemade products, served on a veranda overlooking the Aegean Sea. After a couple of hours, you will continue for a boat ride around Iraklia. Starting from the picturesque little port of Tourkopigado, you will head to explore the island’s untamed coastline. You will get in touch with nature, which in fact is the most interesting part of this alternative excursion. The whole trip will give you a sense of “wild life shelter”. You will see wild birds flying over its seashore, lonely goats wandering around its cliffs and, if you are lucky enough, you might also come cross friendly sea turtles swimming into its emerald waters.
The captain will take you anywhere you’d like to go along Iraklia’s coastline and share his insights on local stories and island traditions, and a few good Greek jokes! Among the sites you will visit are the sunken World War II plane at Alimia bay, located 9 meters underwater, the Seal Cave (Fokiospilia), where you may get lucky and spot a seal or two and make a swimming stop at few of the remote emerald beaches of the island, only accessible by boat. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore a truly forgotten wild paradise, like a true local!
This tour is private for small groups of 1 – 12 persons (maximum).
Children (3 -12 years old) and infants are welcome to participate with parental guidance.
Please remember to prepare a beach bag (with bathing suits, beach towels etc) as we will be making swimming stops along the way.
All boat tours are weather permitting and may be a subject to change without prior notice if the prevailing weather conditions do not allow for a safe trip.
