The Athens Sightseeing walking tour offers a great opportunity to feel the energy of the vibrant capital of Athens as you stroll to explore the modern city combined with its ancient sites. A professional licensed guide will guide you through the major Athens sites such as the Greek Parliament, the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch. In addition, you will explore the Acropolis Hill on foot and visit the majestic Parthenon and other great monuments of the sacred hill. Conclude your tour with a visit to the Acropolis museum, a marvel of architecture and one of the top 10 museums in the world.

Begin your walking tour from Syntagma square and have a brief look at the ancient artifacts displayed in the metro’s museum. Then, pass by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House and watch the Changing of the Guards which is truly remarkable. Next, proceed to the National Gardens, Zappeion Hall, the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch. From there you’ll walk towards the Acropolis on the beautiful pedestrian walkway of Dionysiou Areopagitou. Entering on the south slope of the Acropolis, you’ll visit the Dionysus Sanctuary and Dionysus Theater before you go up the hill and reach Acropolis with its many monuments built on top of its rocky base, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens, as well as other significant sights including the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Ancient Agora, the National Observatory of Athens and the city’s scenic hills: Filoppapos, Mars, and Pnyx.

Finally, you will visit the new Acropolis museum with a full exhibition of the glory of ancient Athens and Acropolis including the statues from the Archaic period, the famous Caryatids and of course the Parthenon hall with the metopes. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy the majestic view of Acropolis Hill at the outdoors space on the second floor of the museum. The tour ends at the Acropolis Museum at approximately 15:00.

Children (6-11 years old) and infants are welcome to participate with parental guidance.
