Would you like to travel back in time for one of the most traditional cooking lessons you will ever experience? Put your hands on preparing them in a traditional farmhouse cuisine and later savor a delicious traditional meal.
Sifnos, being the center of Cycladic gastronomy is the perfect destination for learning how to cook local Greek delicacies! You will have a chance to meet a very hospitable local who will teach you the secrets of authentic recipes that have been passed on among generations, exclusively using locally grown farm products from organic seeds and fruits of trees (like apricot and pear trees of “Vasilika” variety which are rare to find in the rest of the world nowadays).
For this cooking class you will be using local ingredients and fresh products picked earlier in the day from the farm’s vegetable garden. You will then continue to help with the preparation of the 5 traditional recipes (salad dishes, appetizers and main courses) and at the end of the lesson you will enjoy the fruits of your labor and have a true Sifnian dinner in a great homey atmosphere. A choice of local dry white or sweet sun-dried red wine will accompany your meal, served at the traditional farmhouse dining area. For dessert you will be offered a selection of seasonal fruits grown exclusively from the farm’s organic seeds.
This tour is semi private for small groups of 2 – 12 persons (maximum) and is offered in English language (French or Russian can be arranged upon request at extra cost)
Children (6 – 10 years old) are welcome to participate with parental guidance.
