Discover the taste of the magnificent “island of colors” in just one day! Ease yourself into the experience and see the best of the spectacular island of Milos whether you are visiting just for a few days or you simply need an expert guide to show you around.
This full day excursion will begin with a stop by the sea cave of Papafragkas, an impressive location with dramatic rock formations coming out of the sea, forming natural caves and underwater passages – here you will have a quick historical overview about the village of Phylacopi, without entering the archaeological site. You will continue along the eye-catching north coastline, towards Sarakiniko, an inlet of pure white stone sculpted by volcanic eruptions and feel as if you’ve landed on the moon. From there, you will travel towards Plaka, the capital of Milos, wander around its traditional alleys, enjoy the stunning view over the bay of Adamas and taste some homemade desserts at the village’s local pastry shops. Afterwards, you will visit the early Christian Catacombs, which are the largest in Greece, the ancient theatre and the ruins of the ancient city of Klima. You will also pass by the site where Venus de Milo was discovered in 1820 (now residing in the Louvre in Paris). Next, you will make a stop at the small fishing village of Klima to take a photograph of Milos most characteristic architecture called “Syrmata” – these traditional boat parking lots or houses, situated right at the sea with brightly painted doors in various colours, summarize the essence of the most authentic Greek island! Lastly, you will indulge in a cool swim and drinks at the crystal waters of Paleochori or Provatas beach and have a relaxing end to a great day!
This tour is organized (group) with minimum number of participants 2, or it can be arranged privately for 1 – 8 persons.
